Justin Champagnie, the 23-year-old small forward, has been making waves in the NBA with his impressive performances for the Washington Wizards. Recently, he started his first-ever game against the Denver Nuggets, where he scored 23 points, shooting 9-13 from the field, and grabbed 8 rebounds. This performance coming out of no where had fans taking notice but the coaches knew what he was capable of and his teammates too.
Now Champagnie’s success didn’t stop there. In his next game against the Memphis Grizzlies, he scored 14 points, shooting 6-12 from the field, and once again secured 8 rebounds. These stats demonstrate his ability to consistently deliver strong performances and being ready when called upon.
Wizards’ head coach, Brain Keefe, has expressed his admiration for Champagnie’s work ethic and dedication. “He’s one of those guys we’re invested in… He’s done a great job with our G-League team, the Go-Go, and has shown he’s prepared to step up when given the opportunity”.
As a two-way player, Champagnie has been splitting his time between the Wizards and their G-League affiliate. This has allowed him to develop his skills and gain valuable experience, which is now paying off at the NBA level.
