Kadary Richmond, now with St. John’s University, has built a reputation as a skilled and versatile guard. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Richmond first gained attention at South Shore High School, where he led his team to two PSAL championships before transferring to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. His performances there, which included averaging 12.5 points, six rebounds, and nearly four assists per game, earned him First Team All-NEPSAC honors and a spot as a four-star recruit.

Richmond began his college basketball career at Syracuse in 2020, showcasing his all-around game by averaging 6.3 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in limited minutes. After his freshman season, he transferred to Seton Hall, where he truly came into his own. Over three seasons with the Pirates, Richmond became known for his defensive prowess, playmaking, and rebounding. In his final season there (2023-24), he averaged 15.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game and led Seton Hall to an NIT title, earning All-Big East honors.

In 2024, Richmond transferred to St. John’s, joining Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino, who praised him as a valuable addition to the Red Storm’s backcourt. Already, he has impressed in practice, showing improved shooting efficiency and earning a team captain role. If he continues to excel under Pitino, Richmond could draw serious NBA attention by the end of the season.
