Lamar Jackson is on fire this season, and pundits are already calling him the midseason MVP. With his impressive performance against the Denver Broncos, where he achieved a perfect passer rating of 158.3, Jackson is solidifying his position as one of the best players in the league. This season, he ranks first in pass rating, second in pass yards, and first in rush yards among qualified QBs.
The Making of MV3
Jackson’s incredible skillset and consistency have earned him the nickname “MV3,” with many expecting him to take home his third MVP award. His ability to extend plays with his feet and make accurate throws on the run is unparalleled. As Fox Sports’ James Jones noted, “Lamar Jackson looks like he is on a different planet than everybody else. He’s playing at a different speed”.

The Missing Piece: A Super Bowl Win
Despite his impressive individual accolades, Jackson’s ultimate goal remains winning a Super Bowl. As he stated, his focus is on leading the Ravens to a championship, not securing another MVP award. With the addition of Derrick Henry, who’s dominating the league with 1,052 rush yards and 11 touchdowns, the Ravens’ offense is looking more formidable than ever.
A Historic Offense
The Ravens’ offense is making history, joining the 2007 New England Patriots and 2004 Indianapolis Colts as the only teams to achieve 13+ offensive EPA in at least six of nine games to start a season. With Jackson at the helm, the Ravens are averaging 7.1 yards per play, a staggering statistic that’s left many pundits in awe.
Will Lamar Jackson lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory and cement his status as one of the all-time greats? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – he’s putting on a show this season.
